Press Logistics Group is pleased to announce as a part of Nova Systems’ comprehensive bid, Nova and PLG have been successful in its tendering for a position on the Defence Simulation Support Panel, a multi-year contracting panel for Australian Defence simulation work.

The primary purpose of the Defence Simulation Support Panel is for the ADF to plan for and then conduct the disposal of Defence capabilities. Defence endeavours to squeeze all the available life out of a capability and simulation provides an excellent tool to help determine the when and how to remove a capability from Defence’s inventory as well as analyse the effect of doing so. The use of simulation assists the ADF in reducing costs, mitigating risks and assist in the smooth transition to a new capability where that is necessary.

PLG applied and was successful in the following four areas:

1. Simulation Business and Process Analysis
2. Project Management
3. Integrated Logistic Support and Life Cycle Management of simulation systems
4. Delivery of Training and Simulation Operations

Nicholas Press, PLG MD, commented, “PLG is excited to continue to grow our relationship with Nova and build a long and very positive relationship with the Australian Defence Simulation Office (ADSO). We are delighted with this result. We look forward to assisting the Australian Defence Organisation on their training and simulation needs now and into the future.”

Three seminars in Perth and Geraldton this week aim to help increase the productivity and competitiveness of small business.

Held by the Small Business Development Corporation, the Supply Chain Know How seminars will offer practical suggestions about developing an understanding of critical business processes from the start of the supply chain to the end consumer.

Expert presenter Nicholas Press from Press Logistics Group will discuss how effective movement of resources, materials, and people can ensure a smooth workflow and give a small business the competitive edge when bidding for local contracts.

Western Australia Small Business Minister Simon O’Brien says his government is keen to see local small businesses benefit more from the high levels of activity in the state’s mining and construction industries.

He believes the seminars will be of enormous benefit to a broad range of businesses.

“The seminars will give business owners information about how to reduce costs and compete effectively as part of a supply chain,” O’Brien says.

“Understanding how business fits within a supply chain, and knowing how to maximise productivity with best practice planning, distribution and inventory management can give small business owners a competitive edge when pitching for a greater share of the State’s economic growth.

“This is a unique opportunity for businesses to learn new skills that can translate directly into bottom line results from one of the nation’s leading experts in the field.”

The seminars will be held in Perth on September 27 and 29 and in Geraldton on September 28.
